Hey DJ 4U's lists are the year-end Hot 100 charts as published by Billboard and documented on Wikipedia. Data for 1956–2015 comes from an MIT-licensed compilation of those tables; 2016–2025 were taken from the Wikipedia year-end articles directly. We don't add, remove or re-rank songs.

Checks

Every year is checked automatically to make sure it has exactly 100 entries ranked 1 to 100 with no gaps or duplicates. Year pages, artist pages, stories and brackets are all generated from the same data the mixer uses, so they always agree.

What's calculated and what's written

Facts and tables (most entries, holdovers, career spans, one-hit wonders and so on) are calculated from the chart data using the rules stated on each page. Artist credits are split into individual artists automatically; duets count for both artists and featured artists are counted separately. Era overviews and story introductions are written by our team. Mixes and brackets are calculated using the rules described on the About page.

Advertising and affiliates

Ads and affiliate links never influence which songs appear, how they rank or what our stories say.

Corrections

If you spot a misspelled title, a wrong artist credit or any other error, email citylinks4u@gmail.com with the year, rank and a source. We review reports and publish confirmed fixes in the next site update, usually within a week.
