Top 100 Songs of 2015: The Year-End Chart

“Uptown Funk!” by Mark Ronson feat. Bruno Mars was the biggest hit of 2015, finishing at No. 1 on the year-end Top 100 ahead of “Thinking Out Loud” by Ed Sheeran and “See You Again” by Wiz Khalifa. The year-end chart ranks the songs that performed best across the whole year, not just in a single week.

19 acts placed more than one song on the list, led by Taylor Swift (5), The Weeknd (4), Meghan Trainor (4), Ed Sheeran (3), Fetty Wap (3). 8 of the 100 were holdovers from the 2014 list, so 92 songs were new to the year-end chart.

The 2010s: the sound of the era

Streaming changed the charts in the 2010s. On-demand streams began counting toward the pop chart in 2012, and the year-end lists filled with EDM-flavored pop, trap-influenced hip-hop and long-running smashes that stayed on the chart for most of a year.
